Here is where I will be putting my book reviews (and possibly a few software reviews) periodically. Normally, it will be after I've found a good book or series. It doesn't take me long to read, so expect this to be updated a lot.

Hope you like it!

Twilight Series

Thursday, May 7, 2009

The Twilight Series, or Saga, is a four-book series by Stephenie Meyer surrounding the life of Bella and "vegetarian" vampires. Though thought immature, the books show a very real veiw of a fantasy world. Hey, who knows, we may actually have vampires in our midst. The vampires in these books, however, are different from most lore the average person reads.

The book Twilight is very addicting. I was hooked within the preface and wasn't able to set it aside for more than a few minutes to do neccessary things. Bella and Edward are very captivating, dynamic characters, as well as Charlie, the Cullens, and Bella's friends. The plot of the first book is very moving and has quite a lot of action, making it good for both sexes.

On the other hand, New Moon made me cry. Between Edward leaving and Bella's closeness with Jacob, I couldn't take it. I'm sorry Stephenie, but this is my least favourite book in the series. I've always been an Edward fan. At least he comes back!! Here you meet the werewolves and are introduced to the legends of Jacob's people. I love the surprising scenes at the end, though!

Eclipse is also very well written. Between the reappearance of Victoria and the sizzle between Bella and Edward, and also the love triangle, it's very moving, action-packed, and plot twisting. It keeps you on your feet.

My favourite by far is Breaking Dawn, which I could read a million times and never get bored. I can't believe what's in it! It's such a surprise that I'm not even going to put it here. The wedding is PERFECT! It's just what I've always wanted and Simon and I are planning to put that into action as soon as we're able to. This book made me cry too. I was totally scared in the last part with the Voultari and everything. Just wow. Bravo Mrs. Meyer!

Overall, the series is awesomesaucical (as Simon and I like to say) and because of that, I give it mucho kudos! Thanks to Stephenie Meyer for having the meadow dream and writing these books for all of her readers to enjoy.
